- About
DKMS West London (formerly Barnes) hub was set up by Lisa with the aim of encouraging more people to come forward and become blood stem cell donors.
Lisa herself was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in 2016; she was told that her best chance of survival was a stem cell transplant. Fortunately, Lisa’s sister was her perfect match. Following a successful transplant, Lisa is now well and healthy.
So far, the hub has registered nearly 400 people! The hub has expanded to five volunteers, and, as the West London hub, hopes to attract more volunteers from all over the London area and to run even more drives.
