  • About

Alex was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma at 18 years old. Now aged 24, he needs a blood stem cell donation from a stranger. He’s appealing for more people, especially people from mixed backgrounds, to join the blood stem cell register to help others who need a donor. He’s still looking for a donor for himself, which is made more difficult due to his Greek-English heritage.

Every 20 minutes someone in the UK, like Alex, is diagnosed with blood cancer. Often their only hope of survival is a stem cell transplant from a stranger and DKMS works hard to add as many potential lifesavers to the blood stem cell registry as possible.

The money you raise and donate will add more potentially life-saving matches to this register, as adding each one costs DKMS £40, and give more people with blood cancer and blood disorders a second chance at life.
