Sheldon Donovan
My Story
Hello πββοΈ
My name is Sheldon and I'm Running π the London Marathon 2026 for DKMS.
DKMS supported me when I was going through treatment for Hodgkin Lymphoma. Sadly Chemotherapy Treatment and Immunotherapy Treatment didn't get me in to the remission stage so underwent an auto Stem Cell Transplant (from myself) which sadly didn't work. I then underwent weeks of Radiotherapy whilst trying to find a suitable donor for me.
My friends and family were tested and joined the register to see if they were a suitable match.
Thanks to DKMS a non related donor was found in Germany!
Although my family & friends that signed up the DKMs register couldn't help me as they werenβt a match but they have gone on to be suitable donors for other patients.
Itβs down to the amazing work that DKMS and this young man I'm here today - living life to the fullest!
My Brother is also running π the London Marathon and thought 'I can do this', so here I am.
I'm so Thankful to DKMS for all that they do and I really wanted to give back for the Life Saving Work that they did for me.
My aim is to get to Β£2,000 but I'm hoping to smash this target!
DKMS works to find matching stem cell donors for people with blood cancer and blood disorders. Right now, too many patients are still waiting for their perfect match and I'm running to help change that.
By supporting my marathon journey, you'll be helping DKMS register more potential lifesavers and give more people a second chance at life.
Please donate if you can and cheer me on as I take on 26.2 miles for this incredible cause! πͺβ€οΈ
