My Story

My daughter Amelie has battled leukaemia 4 times and after DMKS were successful in finding her donor she underwent a transplant in April 2024. Amelie is currently doing well and recovering from her transplant. It's been a really hard and long road for her and her resilience and strength astound me! Having watched her suffer immense pain and trauma over the last 10 years I feel compelled to fundraise to help as much as we can. With this in mind my friends thought it would be an amazing but crazy idea to trek 100km in the Sahara Jen Powell, Lauren Bryder and Jen McQuarrie and so here goes..... they will update with training and fundraising progress! The aim is to smash the target if they can as this is so very close to our hearts! Without the DKMS we might not have found a donor for Amelie so quickly and I will be forever grateful and thankful to Amelie's super hero donor and the DKMS for giving my daughter the greatest gift of life!
